Busy Brains Activity Packs were created by a mum who understands

Hi, I’m Lauren, a former Deputy Headteacher, West Sussex Lead Teacher and mum of three.

When my second child was born severely deaf, I left teaching to have more time to support him and my two-year-old daughter at home. I spent hours researching early development and creating simple activities to help them learn and thrive. The progress they made was incredible, and it showed me just how powerful the right kind of play can be.

That experience led me to create Busy Brains Activity Packs, so other parents don’t have to second-guess themselves or feel overwhelmed. Just simple, purposeful activities that make a real difference because they meet children exactly where they are at.

These aren’t random ideas you might find online. They are carefully designed, research-backed activities that support key areas of early development, in a way that feels simple and doable in everyday life.

Everything inside these packs is grounded in child development research and my experience as both a teacher and a mum.

We were bought these as a gift and haven’t looked back!

We’ve been using them for the last 8 months and cannot recommend them enough. They have helped my little girl develop so much. She’s an early walker and I put a lot of that down to these cards. She has learnt so much. I would never of thought of doing half of these activities. They are fab!

Absolutely love these cards.

I bought the age 2-3 cards and they are packed full of fantastic ideas. My 4 year old has also loved joining in too. I will definitely be buying the next two sets for my boys. Really like how they explained the development connected to the activity. The play ideas in the pack we will do time and time again. The quality is lovely, love the fact they are wipe clean. Highly recommended Busy Brains Activity Packs.

I love these activity packs!

As a Paediatric Physiotherapist, baby massage and baby yoga instructor my mind always goes to the gross motor but I love how these give me fine motor ideas, sensory play and cognitive stimulation. He thrives when we play the games and do the activities. I love going back to them to see how he interacts and plays differently with different activities in time.

I’ve been using the activity packs since my little boy was a few weeks old! It’s helped me so much as a new mum! There are so many activities to choose from and I love all the additional information you get included!

I love these packs!

I bought all of them because I

get sick of looking at my phone for ideas and here it gives you lots of ideas all in one place and the science behind it is really interesting.

A brilliant resource for parents!

They give so many great age appropriate ideas to help you support your child at their development stage. It is so helpful that they use resources that you will have at home. I have recommended to friends and would recommend to support you in those long days when your child is struggling to be entertained and you at a loss of what to do. Thank you so much.

Imagine...

Instead of wondering what to do each day…
You have a go-to activity ready.

Instead of worrying if you’re doing enough…
You feel confident.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed…
You enjoy playtime knowing you're helping your baby learn.

Still wondering if this is right for you?

Common questions parents ask...

Will I actually use them?

Short answer, yes. The activities are designed for real life, not perfect routines. You can pick one up in a spare five minutes, during a busy morning, or whenever you need a quick idea without overthinking it. Every card includes an egg timer symbol, so you can see roughly how long it takes to get started and choose an activity that fits the time you have.

Do I need lots of materials?

No. Most activities use things you already have at home or are included in the pack. Nothing requires expensive shopping or complicated set-ups, just simple, everyday items. The activities are also easy to adapt, so if you don’t have something mentioned, there is usually an alternative you can use instead.

Will my child enjoy it?

The activities are designed to be engaging, hands-on, and matched to your child’s stage of development. They focus on play-based learning, so children see them as fun rather than “learning time”. There is a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, as well as options for different types of learners, so whether your child prefers sitting and playing or being up and active, there is plenty of choice.

What if I’m not creative, or I find it hard to play with my child?

Do I need to sit and play the whole time?

Can grandparents or other carers use the activities too?

That’s exactly who these activity packs are designed for. You don’t need to be creative or confident at playing with your child. Everything is planned step by step, so you can simply follow along and enjoy the moment together. The focus is on making play easier, not adding pressure or extra thinking for you. “Did you know” sections also explain the purpose behind each activity and the development it supports, giving extra reassurance on tired days.

Not necessarily. Some activities need your involvement at the start, especially for younger children, but many can be led by you and then continued independently. The aim is to support connection and learning in a way that fits around your day, not to add another job to it.

Yes. The activities are simple, clear, and easy to follow, so grandparents and other carers can feel confident using them too. They don’t need any special knowledge, just a few minutes to enjoy playing and connecting with your child. The activities are also designed to be repeated, so it doesn’t matter if they’ve already been used before.
